Perhaps the greatest oilfield city in the world is Midland Texas. If you already live and work in Midland than you already know how great it is. If you have not yet been, then it is time for you to learn what does make it great. There is no place in the world like Midland with its oilfields, food, and culture.
Permian Oilfields
Midland is located in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico. The oilfields in this area are some of the world’s most prolific. The productivity of the Permian Basin oilfields cannot be overstated. In fact, the area was once nicknamed “Saudi America” for the power of these fields. Midland county, in which the city of Midland is located, is now the most productive oil producing county in the state of Texas.
West Texas Food
One of the great things about living in Midland is the wonderful variety of food available. Do you like hamburgers? If so, then you are in luck. Midland has a wonderful variety of places to try new and exciting hamburgers. If you are looking for a special hamburger at a good restaurant then there are plenty of choices. On the south side of Midland you can find a great number of fantastic Mexican Food Restaurants. For modern American faire in Midland there are several good places downtown. If the oilfields, the food, and the beauty of the surrounding landscape has not yet convinced you that Midland is where you want to be, then you must come to fall in love with the culture. As an oil and gas powerhouse, Midland certainly does of a strong oilfield culture. Here you will find both multigenerational oil men and oil women who continue their legacy in providing oil and gas to an energy hungry nation. You may also encounter a few people who have come on short order in order to find prosperity in the Permian Basin’s oil and gas fields. These people come not only from around the country but they hail from all over the world.
For so many reasons, Midland is a wonderful place to call home. If you have been tasked with coming to start an oil and gas career then you could not do any better.
